Magical Parents

WOW ... four beautiful Magical Bits 'n' Bobs Kits dispatched this week.
Two new orders in today.  One in particular made me grin from ear to ear.
The parents personalise the kit by filling in an online form on my website.
I use this information to write a letter to the child, including names of siblings, pets etc
and the parent tells me where they'd like their child to "hang the bag for collection".
Usual responses are "front door handle", "bedroom door handle", the occasional "treehouse / dollhouse",
but tonight the Queen of the Dummy Fairies rejoiced as the parent had written ... "in the top room, nearest the sky".  This little boy is lucky to have such a magical Mummy and is going to have NO problem ditching the dummy.  It makes me beam when I see parents embracing their inner fairy.

I love my job!

Practical Parenting Magazine

I am absolutely thrilled to have been approached to contribute to an article in Practical Parenting Magazine with regards to helping parent and child "ditch the dummy".  I am so passionate about my business and acknowledge that indeed, it's not just about the child, but about the parent also.
It's a very anxious time and one that mustn't be taken lightly.
I look forward to this journey very much,
Ali

Before I fly off to Spain for the week ...

6:12am in the Dummy Fairy Workshop.
Just dedicating some quiet time to finishing off an extra special Magical Bits 'n' Bobs Kit for a little 4 yr old girl in Enfield.  It always overwhelms me when I hear parents are so anxious about making this journey with their child.  I just want to reach through my computer to where they are, give them a reassuring hug and tell them "It's going to be OK".
I love The Dummy Fairy Workshop.  I love that it gives the child a focus during this process and makes the journey that little bit more magical.

Have a great day.

The Dummy Fairy loves FLASH

It's so nice to find a quiet hour to sit down and dedicate some time to updating The Dummy Fairy Workshop website.  My head is so preoccupied with ways of making my site accessible to Mac users.  Come on Apple!   Get the flash issue resolved.  You're killing me!  :-)

Return Customers... I must be doing something right. :-)

I LOVE IT WHEN I GET REPEAT CUSTOMERS.
WHEN I RECEIVED AN ORDER LAST WEEK, I REMEMBERED THIS WOMAN IMMEDIATELY.  A LOVING NANNIE WHO BOUGHT A KIT FOR HER GRANDDAUGHTER LAST YEAR, RETURNS TO WEAN THE DUMMY OFF ANOTHER GRANDCHILD.
THANKS BRENDA.  :-)

Hi Alison,
How lovely you remember me. Yes me last little granddaughter has reached the time to say goodbye to her precious little dummy. Thank you so much for making it up so quickly.  We do appreciate it.
Poppie is now 5 and such a lovely little girl. We have been talking about when she gave her dummy to the fairy and she tells her sister how she will be ok.  What precious memories you have given us. We will always talk about the Dummy Fairy and how much she helped us through what could have been such a difficult time.

This morning I received a lovely testimonial from a client in Denmark.
It makes me day to know that my business is helping parents find the fun in this sometimes stressful process. This little poppet lived in Denmark.

"I just wanted to thank you so much for The Dummy Fairy Workshop :o)
Sofia was SO dependent on her dummies I was actually too frightened to take them away, but on Sunday evening we did it!!  What a success... I will definitely be ordering a pack for Olivia.
I am just over the moon and so proud of her.  She does ask now and again for a dummy and I just say remember the babies have them now and she says 'oh ok then'.  Phew before she would scream down the house if I said dummies are for bed time!  We had a great time with the fairy dust and running round the house checking under all the beds and units making sure we didn't miss any :o)
Olivia is only 11 months - but I can assure you I will not be waiting until she is almost 3 this time.  Wish I had done it months ago with Sofia.
Many thanks, Kathryn"

Yay ... two new victims... OOPS, I mean children, to make Magical Bits 'n' Bobs Kits for.  A little boy in North London and a little girl in Denmark.
Just returned from working holiday in Spain and can't wait to put my fairy hat on.

Yay... my local dentist has ordered more flyers and business cards.
Excellent!  :-)

Awwwww ... just created a kit for a wee one year old girl.  Can't wait to hear how she gets on.  Bless!

Friday, 29 June 2012

The Dummy Fairy Workshop is on holidays for two weeks.  Have one more kit to make today before flying off to Dubai for work.  :-)

I am always excited to receive another reply card in the post from a child who is prepared to donate their dummy to The Dummy Fairy Workshop.  It's all part of the process, but normally, after sending out our Magical Bits 'n' Bobs Kit to an unsuspecting child (mwa ah ah, evil laugh!!!), the child scribbles on the reply card and sends it back.  How FABULOUS today to not only receive one little girl's reply card, but one of her DUMMIES was inside also.   It really made me smile.Thank you Amy.  You made my day.

Have a great weekend.

What a wonderful weekend.  Nothing better to do when it's raining than packing Fairy Dust into wee bags for my wee clients.
Two new orders this week to complete.  Each order is so individual.  Personalising each kit is what makes it so special for me.  Imagining the kiddie's face when Mummy or Daddy reads the letter.  "How does the Dummy Fairy possibly know so much about me?"   I remember my son's visit from The Dummy Fairy like it was yesterday.
I will never tire of doing this.

Have a great week.
Ali :-)

Good Morning,

It's always nice when you've already helped a family ditch the dummy and they come back seeking help with the next in line.
Today I'll be making a Magical Bits 'n' Bobs Kit to send all the way to Australia.
AND the sun is shining... it's all good!!!

Hey peeps,

Today The Queen of the Dummy Fairies is getting techy and updating bits n bobs on the new website.  Connecting all of ones social networks is almost as difficult as ditching the dummy... maybe I should come up with some magical products to help us understand all of this technical jargin?

Very inspired.  All of my new artwork is coming together and the flyers are being produced.  My dentist will soon be advertising The Dummy Fairy Workshop in their reception area, which is really amazing.  It is a wonderful tool for dentists to use as it's a tender subject to raise with parents.  One doesn't want to come across as being judgemental of parenting choices.  Millions of children have dummies.  Mine did.  They're not suffering.  There is a time however to get rid of the little sucker.

I love my business and love my role as The Queen of the Dummy Fairies.

Have a great day.

Welcome to The Dummy Fairy Workshop.

If you're reading this, you may be at the stage that I was at with my little boy Nathaniel a few years ago. Removing a dummy (or any other form of comforter) from a screaming toddler is no fun for any caring parent. We think we have the answer!

What would Christmas be without the anticipation of Santa's arrival down the chimney? Although I believed in The Dummy Fairy, I felt the process lacked a certain sparkle. I decided to borrow a sprinkle of fairy dust from Father Christmas, analyse its DNA, and clone it and hurl it with love at The Dummy Fairy. It worked.

The Dummy Fairy Workshop was created to help you and your child find the fun in the task you're about to face. Sometimes, all it takes is a few Magical Bits 'n' Bobs for the child and a sprinkle of encouragement for the parents, in order for each of you to have the confidence to take this milestone journey together.

It's not just about ditching the dummy. It's a celebration and acknowledgement of our little ones growing up. These moments are so very precious. We've done all the creative stuff, so you can simply take a deep breath, jump on board and enjoy the ride.

It's Fun. It's Easy. It's Magical.   IT'S TIME!!!

I hope our website inspires you to make this important decision for your child. Visit Our Workshop page to understand a little more about our concepts and beliefs. You will learn more about our products on our Magical Bits 'n' Bobs page and then you Make It Personal for them. All you have to do is think of an extra special treat to compliment our Bits 'n'n Bobs. In a little over a week, you and your child will be dummy free!

I am honoured to have adopted the title of HRH Queen of The Dummy Fairies and am pleased to be of service to families who need my help. Don't hesitate to get in touch if you need more information on our products.

Best of Fairy Wishes,
Alison Sarah
